About

Vertige de la cuisine chronicles my exploits in the kitchen. Perhaps committing to maintain a blog whilst researching my dissertation is a bit of an insane undertaking, but I prefer to consider it an opportunity to insert a little more whimsy and adventure into my daily routine. And in the new year, I resolved to tackle activities that challenge, push, and generally terrify me – dating…Spin class…writing a blog for anyone to read. Thus far, these excursions into fearless living have proven most excellent (to quote the philosophers, Bill S. Preston, Esquire and Ted “Theodore” Logan). Not only have I found a kick ass work out, but I’ve also managed to find an awesome person with whom to stumble through my escapades. He suggested that I start blog. When I balked at this and questioned who would want read my little blog, he replied that he would. And of course my parents, who still maintain that I could have been an Olympic figure skater, despite the fact that I landed in the emergency room approximately every other class mostly due to my clumsy exit of the car, would. Plus, a psychic told me to nurture my creative side through writing and photography. Given the abundance of evidence the universe is sending me to throw something out into the world, I figured the least I could do was toss it a bone.

A Quick Note: This blog is about my own experiences. I am not a nutritionist nor am I a personal trainer. I am chronicling my experiments, triumphs, and failures, not dispensing advice about how you should live, eat, train, etc. Talk to your healthcare professional before implementing a new dietary or exercise program. Use your noggin, kids.
